Permit Information

Permit applications are NOT accepted via email- hard copy only by USPS/mail or in person with correct fee - see applications below and fee schedule.  ONLY COMPLETE applications will be accepted by mail or at the counter.  If the application(s) are mailed and not complete, they will be mailed back to the return address on the envelope.  ALL permits require a septic compliance inspection completed within the last 3 years or a certificate of installation stating the system has been installed/upgraded within the last 5 years.  

Land Use Permit Application

Is used for new dwellings, auxiliary structures, garages, sheds, decks, porches, additions to dwellings, additions to other buildings, accessory structures, travel trailers, fences, signs, building demolition, new septic systems and upgrades to septic systems.  Septic design paperwork must accompany a septic application (emailed is not accepted).

Shoreland Alteration Permit Application

Is required for most dirt moving, vegetation removal, and landscaping activities in the shoreland zones (1000 feet of a lake or pond and 300 feet of river or stream).

Commercial Land Use Permit Application

Is required for new commercial buildings, storage structures, additions to commercial buildings, septic systems upgrades and installations and commercial change of use on a property.

Impervious Surface Worksheet and Calculator

Is used to calculate the percentage of all impervious surfaces, to calculate the amount of runoff on the parcel and is required with all shoreland district permits.

Authorized Agent Form

Required if the permit and/or application is being applied for by a licensed builder or a relative that is not the property owner.

Septic Compliance Inspection

Must have been completed within the last 3 years or the system installed within the last 5 years.  If a Compliance Inspection is needed, please contact a state licensed septic inspector.
